For your convenience, we have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions we receive from guests. If you do not find an answer to your question here, please do not hesitate to contact us for further assistance.
Do you allow day visitors?
Day visitors are not allowed; however, we are open for functions on a regular basis. Check out our Facebook and Instagram posts for upcoming lunches and picnics.
Do you allow parties?
We do not allow any parties or loud music on the property. We are an eco-retreat and people visit us for the serenity and quietness of untouched nature and are here to experience the closeness to nature
Do you accommodate families?
The retreat does not accommodate children under 16 or infants.
Do the units have television?
All our power is generated by solar energy. We do not have TVs, air-conditioners, etc. in the units.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not allowed. We have wildlife on the farm and the animals graze in the gardens and close to the hiking trails. To protect both our game and your pet, we do not allow people to bring their pets.
Do you offer game drives?
We do not offer game drives. However, the hiking trails are well-marked. You can enjoy a short or slightly longer hike to catch a glimpse of the Giraffes, Impala and Kudu.
Do I need a high-rise vehicle?
The road to Graceland Eco Retreat is very well maintained and is tarred for the most part. The gravel road from the tar road to inside Graceland is easily drivable. The section from Serapana down to Kudu Chalet and Pause Restaurant is slightly uneven but most visitors easily drive it with a sedan. Very low-rise cars are not advisable.
Are meals included in the rate?
All rates are on a self-catering basis. You may choose to add breakfast or dinner at an additional cost. These meals must be booked and paid for 72 hours in advance as we are far from any shopping facilities.
Is there a spa on the property?
We do not have a spa. However, many guests choose to make a day trip to Tzaneen to enjoy a spa treatment.
It there a pool?
The splash pool is for the sole use of guests that are booked into Kudu Chalet.
Can I change my reservation?
Changes to any booking must be done at least 14 days before arrival. The dates can only be moved if there is availability for your new dates. If you would like to order breakfast or dinner it has to be ordered and pre-paid 72 hours before your visit.
If I cancel, will I get a full refund?
To confirm a booking the full price of your stay is payable. If you need to cancel, please take note of our cancellation policy.
If cancelled 60 days before arrival, 100% of the total price of the reservation will be refunded.
If cancelled within 30 days before arrival, 50% of the total price of the reservation will be refunded.
If cancelled within 15 days before arrival, 20% of the total price of the reservation will be refunded.
If cancelled later or in the case of a no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
What happens if a guest damages a property?
On confirming a booking, you agree to compensate Graceland Eco Retreat for any damages or breakages you or anyone in your group might cause.
Is PAUSE Restaurant open daily?
Pause restaurant is not a walk-in restaurant and caters for in-house guests only. If you are not booked with us for accommodation and would like to enjoy lunch or dinner, please contact us with your query.
Are you in a malaria area?
We do not fall within a malaria area. We suggest that you use a bug spray.
